Firstly check out the syllabus properly and then decide what to study and how much time to be spent on each topic. Once you check out the syllabus, the next step is dividing the syllabus into subjects and then subject to Chapters. The current syllabus of UPSC is topic wise. Now, all that you have to do is deciding the relevant books and material you will study for each topic. After deciding the study material to be used, plan the number of days to be utilized for finishing the topics. If you want to follow the schedule properly you will have to make daily targets and divide each topic into days. Remember that you don’t make any tight schedule and also don’t burden you much. Also add some extra days in the schedule, if in case you are not able to cover the topic in scheduled time so you can go through it on extra days. After the completion of all topics, once go through with the syllabus for revision. It might help you in clearing the topics in a proper manner. Hence, just focus on finishing your syllabus whether it takes you three hours, six hours or a complete day.

But also make sure that don’t waste much of your time in after study breaks. 30 Minutes break is enough after 4-5 hours of study. Always try to put all your focus to your aim without taking a lot of burdens, try to work with a fresh mind and chase your goal with all possible efforts.
